The World of Emperor Gon of Carthage
Mozai Project

Emperor Gon of Carthage
November 26, 2001

Kitombo had launched on a grand project called Mozai Project.

The word "project" may be too exaggerating. Several members who have been contributing to this website put together a group to discuss with Dr. Torao Mozai in Okinawa and eventually publish its results.

Many of you may wonder "Who is Torao Mozai?" He, however, is a man of great statue. He holds a title of professor emeritus at Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and has a doctor of engineering, a prominent figure in the field of marine archaeology. How is he so great? Not only has be rendered distinguished service, but he is, in real sense, a " God's Hands".

He has a wonderful art of designating the accurate location the of the underwater ruins and remains. Unlike some amateur archaeologist of some country, he never puts relics underwater.

Dr. Mozai, making full usage of his distinctive ability (an insight, a hunch or psi power), had found many underwater sites and remains. His name was once widely known for discovering the mysterious underwater site from bottom of Lake Titicacca of South America.

Now, you may have guessed why we wanted to talk with Dr.Mozai in Okinawa. Yes, the purpose of our conversation is the underwater ruin of Yonaguni. Some may disagree with us for calling it an underwater ruin. But the monument can be seen only as an underwater site lying at the bottom of the sea in the Yonaguni Island located at the western end of Japan.

Since it has appeared on television several times over the past years, many of you may have recognized it already.

The main purpose of the project is to visit this site. And alongside, we planned to hear accounts relative to ancient oceanic cultures and marine trades. It is definitely not an Okinawa sightseeing tour under the name of tete-a-tete.

Our discussion was held on Ishigaki Island and Yonaguni Island of Okinawa from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. For those interested, what we had discussed will be published soon. What? You don't want to spend your money on just to read what strangers discussed? OK, don't worry. The account of the discussion will appear in this column for the next several weeks.

It will be entitled "Emperor Gon of Carthago presents, Mozai Project --the extra edition". It is filled with inside stories that may never appear in the book. Look forward to see the true selves of the Kitombo members.
