Long Living Tortoise's Walk in Tokyo
"Ikoma kitsch"

To go to the summit of Ikoma, you need to take a mountain railway in the shape of a dog, a cat, or a cake. There is some music played in the car. How fantastic! A dog car and a cat car were being designed preciously to pass each other regularly on the way, and you'd hear an electronic announcement saying "Here we go, a bulldog is going to greet you," "Bowwow," and "Meow." It's more than just surprising, and it actually becomes enjoyable. These are very advanced modern arts.
As a matter of fact, there is a facility where we can play with dogs and cats on the top of the mountain. It's a tie-up of a train service and an amusement park. That's a kind of structure which has been common from old times. Yet, it's quite amazing that those two facilities are completely attached to each other. That means, I assume, that when you are still at the bottom, you are already in the amusement park. Looking at the prosperous Ikoma-shouten on the way and the hotel district by the shore, it seems to be a perfect tourist resort.
I heard that the area at the summit commands a beautiful night view for dating couples. Yet, the way the area has been designed in old-fashioned style is so mismatching that it's almost touching. If this were done on purpose, that'd be such a tactful stage setting. Since it's a Sunday morning, there are many families with little children, and it seems to be a safe place to play. It'd be an appropriate stage to play a happy family. There is a restaurant that looks no better than a seaside clubhouse with simple common menu. It's rather strange to be able to find such outdated things nowadays.
Is it really true that the area becomes full of dating couples in the night? Well, I've got to come back again in the evening next time. Then, I'll have to enjoy a million-dollar view at night!
It was about the day I've flown to Kyoto and Nara. I've originally intended to introduce a scene of what is called ancient city, but I actually wanted to mention the power of the Kansai region after all. There, even a temple is like an amusement park. The power of the West is amazing. I feel that the tolerance there is different from that of the Kanto region. There are so many things that are too dazzling for people in Tokyo.
